Agbalumo Stories

Submission

Thank you for your interest in getting published by Agbalumo Stories. If you have a story categorised as an African genre fiction, with an engaging narrative and compelling characters, then there’s a good chance you have an Agbalumo story, and we can’t wait to read it. By ‘African genre fiction’, we mean genre fiction that is set anywhere in an African country—this country can be real, like Nigeria, or it can be fictional, like Wakanda—with, at least, one main character who is also African.

We accept submissions from August 10th to September 30th

Submission Guidelines

We accept only one submission per writer. However, if you think you’ve made an error in your submission, then you may resubmit.

  • Submit a one-page synopsis of your work in Microsoft Word. Please, do ensure that your synopsis contains all major plot points, including spoilers, and we’ll also like to see how the story ends.
  • In your query letter, please include the genre and the word count of your story. Include the reason you’re contacting us, introduce your book, and tell us what your book is about. Include an author bio as well, and consider telling us why you’re best suited to write this story.
  • Submit a three-chapter sample of your manuscript, also in Microsoft Word.
  •  Send your manuscript sample in double-spaced, indented paragraph, and left justified. Use a 12-point serif font (we like Times New Roman)
